Jaguars vs. Texans: The plays that defined week 2

The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2) lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Houston Texans (0-1) in a 13-12 loss in Houston on Sunday. Between the first and last whistle, there were countless plays that stood out and decided the game's final result.

From Gardner Minshew's best plays and miscues to the blitzes the Jaguars defense used to disrupt Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, which plays determined the outcome of Sunday's loss?

Play 1: Gardner Minshew is sacked on first drive.

It is hard to determine who is at fault here because we don't know the pass protection call, but either Andrew Norwell or Brandon Linder should have adjusted to make this block.

Play 2: Jalen Ramsey limits DeAndre Hopkins.

DeAndre Hopkins had only five catches for 40 yards on Sunday, in large part because of plays like this.

Play 3: Gardner Minshew misses DJ Chark early.

Minshew had to rush this pass because of pressure around the edge, but this could have been a huge gain if he was able to connect.

Great job by Minshew staying composed under pressure here.

Play 5: First sack/fumble on Gardner Minshew.

Minshew fumbled three times on Sunday, with this one occurring because he didn't get the ball out of his hands, in addition to left guard Andrew Norwell being beat badly.

Play 6: D.J. Hayden sacks Deshaun Watson on third down.

With defensive end Yannick Ngakoue out with injury, the Jaguars had to get creative with blitzes to get to Deshaun Watson.

Play 7: Leonard Fournette gets big gain but can't break final tackle.

If Leonard Fournette breaks this Tashaun Gipson tackle, he has a chance to score. But he struggles to decide if he wants to be a power or space back on this play and ends up getting easily tackled.

Plays 8 and 9: Defense fails to create turnovers.

The Jaguars have struggled to get turnovers since the 2017 season ended, with bounces almost never going their way. On the bright side, defensive tackle Taven Bryan's pressure it what almost made the interception happen.

From the offensive line not picking up assignments to Gardner Minshew not securing the ball well enough, there were a number of issues on this play and it led to the Texans only touchdown of the game.

Play 11: Gardner Minshew throws a 31-yard dime to Chris Conley

This was a terrific throw by Minshew for the team's longest gain of the day, but it was even more so of a terrific catch by Conley. He has really impressed as a bigger pass catching target over the first two games.

Play 12: Gardner Minshew gets a gutsy fourth down conversion.

An incredibly aware play by Minshew here. Great pose and instincts from the rookie.

Plays 13 and 14: Two-point conversion fails after touchdown pass to DJ Chark.

Leonard Fournette did everything in his power to score here but came up just short. It wasn't a bad idea to go for the points here, but Fournette couldn't fine running room all day.
