Reports: Jalen Ramsey has requested a trade from the Jaguars

After what has seemed like a never-ending cycle of tension and passive aggressiveness between cornerback Jalen Ramsey and the Jacksonville Jaguars culminated in a heated sideline exchange during Sunday's 13-12 loss to the Houston Texans, Ramsey is now asking for his way out of Jacksonville, according to multiple reports.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Ramsey's trade request goes deeper than Sunday's incident with Marrone, which Marrone said was due to Ramsey wanting a challenge flag thrown on a questionable DeAndre Hopkins catch.

According to Rapoport, Ramsey also has major issues with how he is used in the defensive scheme, which has forced him to play much more zone coverage than he would prefer. Ramsey has called out the Jaguars scheme several times in the past as well.

Another aspect could be the lack of a new contract for Ramsey, who said this summer the team told him he would not get a new extension this season. The three players drafted in front of him in 2016 (Jared Goff, Carson Wentz and Ezekiel Elliot) have already been able to cash out, however.

Ramsey is in the fourth year of his rookie contract and will be due roughly $13 million next season, the final year of the deal. The contract may be a factor in what the Jaguars are able to get for Ramsey when, or if, they trade him.
