Trevor Lawrence had his breakout season in 2022.

Now, the Jacksonville Jaguars' franchise passer is expected by most to take an even bigger leap in 2023.

Lawrence is one of five players given a nod by Bleacher Report who is expected to be even better in 2023 than they were last year. Joined by players such as Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth, and Miami Dolphins safety Jevon Holland, Lawrence is clearly the young quarterback with the most eyes on him entering 2023.

"Despite the Clemson product's strong finish last year—only Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow earned a higher PFF grade from Week 9 onward—that included delivering Jacksonville its first playoff victory in a half-decade in the most stunning fashion, many quarterbacks have truly blossomed in their third season,"

Bleacher Report wrote.

"The best is still ahead for this emerging superstar who already made the first of what should be many Pro Bowl nods last year."

In 17 starts in 2022, Lawrence completed 387 of 584 passes for 4,113 yards and 25 TDs. His 387 completions were the most in a single season in franchise history and his five rushing TDs were tied with Garrard for the most in single-season franchise history.

Lawrence joined Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Bills QB Josh Allen as the only players in the NFL with 25-plus passing TDs and at least five rushing TDs. Against the Titans in Week 14, Lawrence set a career-high with 368 yards passing and was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.

The second-year quarterback totaled four 300-yard passing games and orchestrated three comebacks of 17-plus points, including a comeback from behind 27-0 in the postseason against the Chargers.

Lawrence and the Jaguars have the same high expectations for the former No. 1 overall pick that others seemingly have, with Lawrence noting during offseason workouts that the simple fact of another year in Doug Pederson's system should lead to less thinking and more playing.

Lawrence also matured significantly in terms of decision-making during the Jaguars' 2022 run, a factor that Lawrence himself is looking to continue to develop in 2023.

“Yeah, I think obviously that that’s just a continual chase to be better and better and be a better leader and be that example for this team,” Lawrence said during OTAs. “But also I think just the little things, the details of the position, whether it’s different progressions, just being smarter with the ball in certain situations.

"I think you look at our season last year and had a lot of situations where we made a lot of crazy plays, did a lot of things that we needed to do to win games, but how do I just play in and play out? Be more consistent, take the checkdown on certain plays, when do I trust my instincts? Just being smart about all that. I think I do that well at times but there’s sometimes I could be a little bit more consistent and just make the easy plays, make the routine plays every time and that’s where I’m trying to improve more on.”
