Add US Open to the List: Rodgers and Teammates Spend Sunday at Tennis Major

Rodgers and Co. visit another major sporting event in metropolitan area

Aaron Rodgers's New York sports tour resumed on Sunday, making a stop at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing.

The New York Jets' new quarterback and two teammates were spotted in the stands at the 2023 US Tennis Open.

Tight end CJ Uzomah and receiver Randall Cobb joined Rodgers as spectators at the major tournament. Cobb, however, was a little lighter in the wallet during the Sunday afternoon excursion after receiving a $13,889 fine for his illegal block in the preseason finale against the New York Giants. Cobb's wife, Aiyda, was part of the group in attendance on Labor Day Weekend.

The official US Open X (formerly Twitter) account posted a 30-second video clip of the Rodgers-led party walking on the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center and approaching the entrance to the main show court.

The main-court afternoon session featured unseeded Ben Shelton's four-set win over fellow American No. 14 seed Tommy Paul in a Round 4 men's singles match. On the women's side, American Coco Gauff, the No. 6 seed, held off Danish-born Caroline Wozniacki.

No. 2 men's seed Novak Djokovic is playing the opening night session match at Ashe Stadium, but it's unclear how many hours of tennis the three Gang Green playmakers are hoping to enjoy. On Monday, they'll likely ramp up preparations for their September 11 season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football.

After being traded from the Green Bay Packers, Rodgers has become immersed in the rich entertainment, arts and sports that are staples of the metropolitan area. Since arriving in late April, he has attended NBA Playoffs games, the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, the US Tennis Open, multiple Broadway shows along with Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran concerts.
