Plenty of New York Jets' fans will watch it, and some will even wager on it.

It is the National Football League Preseason.

Getting lost in the 2023 NFL Schedule Release hype, the preseason matchups were also unveiled this month.

Having been selected for the annual Hall of Fame Game, which officially kicks off the NFL Preseason on August 3 in Canton, OH, the Jets will play four exhibition contests this summer.

After the HOF Game opener against the Cleveland Browns, Gang Green will face NFC South teams in back-to-back weeks.

The Jets travel to the Carolina Panthers for a Preseason Week 1 matchup on August 10, 11 or 12.

The Green & White will play its only home game on the August slate against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Preseason Week 2 (Aug. 17-19). This contest may mark the one, and only, time that future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers takes a preseason snap in 2023.

Veteran superstars, especially signal callers, rarely see on-field action during these summertime tune-ups, but the Jets and their new field general may want a few warmup reps before the Monday Night Football opener against Buffalo. It's unlikely they'll try it at the HOF Game and the preseason finale will probably serve as a last-chance audition for the back-ups. The third preseason game seems like the best bet for Rodgers' debut.

After hosting the Bucs, it's onto the preseason finale against the New York Giants in the game formerly known as the "Snoopy Bowl." The two teams who share a home stadium traditionally meet every year for an end-of-the-summer tune-up. Robert Saleh's Jets have defeated their MetLife Stadium co-tenants in the preseason each of the past two years.

Although the Jets-Giants preseason game date has yet to be announced (Preseason Week 3 games are set for Aug. 24, 25 & 26), a source has confirmed to Jets Country that it will be played in the evening on Saturday, August 26.

The Jets will meet their first and last preseason opponents again in the regular season when the games counts this fall. Gang Green will visit the Browns in Week 17 for a Thursday Night Football affair on December 28. In Week 8, the Jets will be the designated road team against the Giants on October 29 at MetLife Stadium.

For what it's worth, DraftKings Sportsbook already has a wagering line posted for the HOF Game with Cleveland opening at a 1.5-point favorite over the Green & White.
