Jets Wasting Time Meeting With NFL Draft's Top 3 Quarterbacks?

Despite owning Aaron Rodgers and the 10th overall pick, the New York Jets are meeting individually with the NFL Draft's presumptive No. 1 selection at this week's Scouting Combine.

The New York Jets have a small window for 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers, and many pressing needs other than quarterback. Namely, finding offensive linemen to protect him or receivers he can throw to.

The Jets likely won't make a blockbuster trade in April's NFL Draft and, even if they do, it almost assuredly won't be to take a quarterback.

Jets - Caleb Williams

Add it all up and - sure enough - New York is taking time at this week's NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis to meet individually with presumptive No. 1 overall pick, USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

In the spirit of due diligence, the Jets are also meeting with LSU Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels and North Carolina's Drake Maye. Both quarterbacks are expected to be Top 8 selections.

The Jets own pick No. 10.

All three quarterbacks are meeting with a handful of teams in Indy, but are saving their on-field work for their school's "Pro Day" in the next month.

Rodgers is the only quarterback on the Jets' roster signed for 2025.
