WATCH: Super Blown: Did Ex Jets Receiver Mecole Hardman Predict Own Future?

Last Summer in New York Jets training camp, receiver Mecole Hardman predicted his team would beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII. He was almost exactly right.

Right Super Bowl hero. Wrong Super Bowl team.

Eerie New York Jets flavor.

Way back last July, HBO's Hard Knocks trained its cameras on Jets training camp in Florham Park. One of the first scenes of the series featured mentalist Oz Pearlman pulling out a random player and asking him to predict the details of a Super LVIII that was still seven months and 285 NFL games away.

The team the player picked to lose the Super Bowl? The San Francisco 49ers.

The player selected? Mecole Hardman.

In the confounding scene, Oz assumed the Jets would win the championship game. But he had Hardman spontaneously blurt out the final score and the opponent. To everyone's amazement, Oz seconds later flipped over a large poster: "New York Jets 31, San Francisco 49ers 21."

Though he wound up getting the loser and a key player in the game correct, even a renowned mentalist couldn't be expected to have a vision of Hardman flaming out with the Jets, getting traded back to the Kansas City Chiefs, and catching the game-winning touchdown in overtime of Super Bowl LVIII.

Maybe next Summer Oz should morph his superpower with the self-anointed manifestation prowess of Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
