Adam Schein may or may not have recently purchased a No.8 New York Jets' jersey.

He's been all about Gang Green and their Hall-of-Fame quarterback lately.

The media personality scored an exclusive interview with Aaron Rodgers last week, hosting the four-time NFL MVP on his "Schein on Sports" satellite radio program.

Next, Schein led off his "Bold predictions for 2023 NFL season" article by featuring the Rodgers-led Jets in the top spot on his list of prognostications.

In a glaringly BOLD move, Schein projected a Super Bowl LVIII battle between the Jets and the San Francisco 49ers. In a cruel twist of fate, the NFL.com contributing columnist mapped out a scenario where Gang Green falls short against an opponent led by a former Jets' first-round draft pick.

From Schein:

"This is an attention-grabbing prediction, to say the least. But it's not unreasonable. At this point in time, it's what I feel. Allow me to explain ...

... On the AFC side, I've been debating between the Bills and Jets as the conference's Super Bowl LVIII reps. But last week, I scored an exclusive interview with Aaron Rodgers on my SiriusXM Radio show, "Schein on Sports." And with that chat still fresh in my mind -- particularly Rodgers' visualization of his Jets winning it all like the '86 Mets -- I am indeed drinking the Gang Green Kool-Aid. The Jets have an all-time quarterback, explosive weaponry and a top-five defense. It's not hard to envision a magical season reaching into February.

So there you have it: 49ers over Jets in the Las Vegas Super Bowl. Pencil it in. And pencil Darnold into the starting lineup. ...."

Rodgers leads Gang Green to its first Super Bowl appearance in 54 years, but castoff Sam Darnold gets the last laugh. Schein deserves credit for his creativity if nothing else.

The Jets are tied with the Dallas Cowboys as the sixth-leading favorite to win the Super Bowl according to SI Sportsbook. Gang Green has +1400 odds or 14-to-1. Kansas City is a +550 favorite to repeat as SB champion. The 49ers are currently priced at 8:1 to win it all.

Third-year head coach Robert Saleh labeled the Green & White as a legitimate contender prior to a May 23 OTAs Phase 3 practice.

"I think 32 coaches stand in front of their team every year and talk about winning a championship," said Saleh. "Realistically, there’s maybe six-to-eight teams that have an actual chance to do it, and I do think we are one of those teams."

In the race for the AFC crown, Rodgers and Co. carry the fourth-shortest odds at +800. Only the Chiefs (+333), the Cincinnati Bengals (+450) and the Buffalo Bills (+450) are more likely than the Jets to win the Lamar Hunt Trophy.

During a June 1 radio spot on Buffalo-based WGR, Boston Globe writer Ben Volin picked the Jets to dethrone the Bills as AFC East division champs.
