The legendary Jets cornerback, affectionately known by fans as Revis Island, terrorized opposing offenses during his 11-year career.
Former offensive lineman Damien Woody played with Revis on the Jets from 2008-10, including back-to-back trips to the AFC Championship Game. While fans are well aware of Revis' astounding feats, Woody wants the world to know what was so special about him when the cameras weren't on.
I wish ppl could’ve seen Darrelle Revis in practice....the best player I’ve ever seen

That's an extremely lofty accolade from Woody, who has also played with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. When a Twitter user mentioned Brady, Woody flatly answered that Revis was "better" than Brady during practices.
Revis recorded 22 of his 29 career interceptions during his eight seasons with Gang Green (2007-12, 2015-16). During his tenure with the Jets, Revis reached the Pro Bowl five times and was selected as a First-team All-Pro three times.
Former Jets kicker Jay Feely, who played with Revis from 2008-09, reveals what fueled Revis in practice.
Dude, how many times have I said this. People don’t listen or believe it for some reason.

He told me once, I want to prove to every person out there every day I’m the best. https://t.co/bk9LluiVCx
How amazing would it have been to be a fly on the wall during one of those practices? It's really cool to hear Revis' peers rave about his competitiveness and shed light on how he led by example.
Revis was the heart and soul of those elite Jets defenses and should be a future Hall of Fame member. Woody's Twitter tribute is another strong case for why Revis' bust belongs in Canton, Ohio.
