Lions Re-Sign CB Emmanuel Moseley

Moseley played two snaps in 2023.

The Detroit Lions are running it back with a defensive back that only played two snaps in the 2023 season.

According to ESPN, veteran cornerback Emmanuel Moseley is returning to Motown on a one-year deal.

Moseley has dealt with two major injuries the past couple of seasons. In six NFL seasons, he has totaled 162 tackles and four interceptions.

After tearing his ACL in 2022, Moseley spent the 2023 season rehabbing an ACL tear in the other knee.

The soon-to-be 28-year-old was expected to compete to be the cornerback playing opposite of Cam Sutton last season.

As a result of injuries, the defensive backs unit did not live up to expectations for Aaron Glenn’s defense

Deshea Townsend was brought in to the organization to help improve the play of the defensive backs.

Dre Bly and Brian Duker are no longer with the organization, as the coaching staff added new members on the defensive side of the football.

"When I get in the room, I tell the young guys, it’s your job to take the starters’ job, and the starters, it’s your job to hold them off," Townsend said, via the Detroit Free Press. "And, that’s the same way in coaching. You got to make sure you’re doing your best at every opportunity, you have to prove yourself daily and I wouldn’t expect anything different from myself that I expect from them."
