With one eye on the health of his football team and another eye on the schedule, Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur continued his player-friendly schedule on Wednesday by swapping out a scheduled practice for a walk-through.

“I think coach is very in-tune with the locker room and the way the guys are feeling,” right tackle Bryan Bulaga said. “We’re not looking ahead to Thursday night – that’s not what’s happening – but he’s planning for the impact on the guys’ bodies and what we’re going to be going through with three games in 11 (days). It’s a lot of football. It takes a toll on guys. He’s planning ahead and I know the locker room appreciates that.”

The Packers, who are 2-0 after beating Minnesota on Sunday, will host Denver this Sunday and Philadelphia next Thursday.

“Obviously, this Sunday, then a short turnaround on a Thursday game, we’re a little banged up right now,” LaFleur said. “So, I wanted to give our guys the opportunity to try to get their bodies back a little bit.”

The Eagles, who are playing Detroit on Sunday, also scrapped their Wednesday practice.

The Packers are, indeed, banged up. Had the Packers practiced like usual, starting tight end Jimmy Graham and starting defensive lineman Montravius Adams would not have practiced. Adams was sidelined by a shoulder injury, and linebackers Kyler Fackrell and Blake Martinez would have been limited by shoulder injuries, as well.

Meanwhile, inside linebacker Oren Burks would have been limited. He has not practiced since suffering a partially torn pectoral in the preseason opener.

For Denver, right tackle Ja'Wuan James did not practice. Inside linebacker Todd Davis, the leading tackler last year, appears on course to play after missing the last month.
