Watch: Offensive Line Drills at Training Camp

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Zach Tom appears to have settled in as the No. 1 right tackle and the challenge to Josh Myers’ job at center seems to be much ado about nothing.

Nonetheless, Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur wasn’t about to say he’s found his starting offensive line.

“I think we’ve still got a ways to go yet,” he said before Sunday’s practice. “Certainly, we’ve got two more preseason games. This is going to be a big week for our guys. It’s going to be the most exhausting week of the preseason for these guys in terms of we’ve got practice today, practice tomorrow, a walk-through on Tuesday and we’ll get two practices vs. the Patriots. Then you’ve got two more games. So, we’ve got a long way to go yet.”

At Sunday’s practice, with veteran left tackle David Bakhtiari getting the day off, the No. 1 line was formed by Rasheed Walker at left tackle, Elgton Jenkins at left guard, Myers at center, Jon Runyan at right guard and Tom at right tackle.

For the starters vs. starters 2-minute drill, though, Tom replaced Jenkins at left guard.

While Myers might be locked in at center, the backup spot appears up for grabs. Tom is an option for that role, but Runyan played a few series against the Bengals and Jake Hanson returned from injury on Sunday.

“Whether it’s throughout the course of the preseason and we get into the regular season,” LaFleur said, “may the best man win.”
