Mike Williams Up Next in Carolina?

The Panthers are looking into adding another veteran wide receiver.

Dan Morgan is not playing around this offseason when it comes to giving second-year quarterback Bryce Young enough pieces.

According to Mike Kaye of the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers have scheduled a visit to host veteran free agent wide receiver Mike Williams who was recently released by the Los Angeles Chargers. L.A. was set to owe the 29-year-old receiver $20 million in non-guaranteed money and instead decided to part ways with the former 2017 top ten pick.

Williams is coming off a season in which he tore his ACL, limiting him to just three games. He's dealt with numerous injuries throughout his career but none were as severe as the ACL. In the previous five seasons, he played in at least 13 games each year.

In his seven-year career, Williams has caught 309 passes for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns. He's a native of Vance, South Carolina which is just a little over two hours away from Charlotte.

Adding Williams (6'4", 218 lbs) to a position group that consists of Adam Thielen, Diontae Johnson, Jonathan Mingo, Ihmir Smith-Marsette, and potentially a second round pick makes that room lightyears better than what it was in 2023.
