Panthers Agree to Terms with Safety Nick Scott

Carolina continues to add depth to the secondary.

The Carolina Panthers announced they have agreed to terms with veteran safety Nick Scott on a one-year deal.

Scott has familiarity with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, having spent the first three seasons of his career with him with the Los Angeles Rams. He will also reunite with former Rams teammate, Jordan Fuller, who signed with Carolina last week.

The 28-year-old was a seventh-round draft choice by the Rams in 2019 coming out of Penn State. In his first two years, he played the majority of his snaps on special teams and recorded 24 tackles in 31 games. By year three, he worked his way into the defensive back rotation and played well enough to earn a starting role in 2022. In his first year as a full-time starter, Scott recorded 86 tackles, five passes defended, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

Scott spent the 2023 campaign with the Cincinnati Bengals where he totaled 57 tackles, one tackle for loss, one QB hit, and one fumble recovery. With Jordan Fuller and Xavier Woods manning down the two starting spots at safety, Scott will serve as a backup option who can play both free and strong.
