Bryce Young Reveals Which NFL QB He's Leaned on During Transition to the Pros

Making the transition from college to the NFL is not an easy one to navigate, even for the number one pick in the draft.

New Panthers' quarterback Bryce Young did not waste a single opportunity to soak in knowledge from current and former NFL quarterbacks throughout his draft process. During that time he got to meet a lot of respected people who have played the position and was willing to hear their feedback.

"I've been blessed to be around some great people. People who have played in the league, who play in the league now. Whether that be former teammates who are older and have been in the league, whether they are guys that I met through this process in the offseason, or coaches that are coaching or retired, I've all kind of asked everyone for input, for info, for advice. I have so much to learn about this league and I want to do everything I can to try and set myself up to be successful and help the franchise."

There is, however, one player in particular that Young has leaned on for advice and that's New England Patriots QB, Mac Jones.

"Mac was someone I was really close with. I played under him while I was a freshman at Alabama. I've definitely reached out to him about the transition and things that he took away in just trying to get prepared for this next level, this next step. So that's one of many guys who have been super gracious in helping me."

In Mac Jones' rookie season, he led the Patriots to a 10-7 record while throwing for 3,801 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. Considering Young is entering an offense with more talent at the skill positions than what Jones walked into, matching or even besting Jones' rookie numbers is not a far-fetched thought.
