Bad Dad: ‘Baby Gronk’ Act Ripped by Patriots Legend; ‘Cease & Desist!’

Ex-New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has had enough of the "Baby Gronk" social media persona.
In this story:

The once-cute internet sensation "Baby Gronk," has come under fire over the last few weeks for using social media to gain money and fame. ... but more, for pestering his namesake, who wants the gimmick to go away.

"Baby Gronk" is a 10-year-old kid whose social media accounts are being run by his dad, Jake San Miguel, who specializes in portraying his son as the next big thing in football, despite not even hitting puberty.

Multiple people in the media, including Taylor Lewan and Will Compton on their Barstool Sports podcast "Bussin' With The Boys," have spoken out against Baby Gronk's father for messaging them privately about wanting his son to appear on their show, much to their dismay.

After Compton publicly denied the request of San Miguel to host the social media famous 10-year-old on the podcast, Bussin' With The Boys spoke to the real Gronk, ex-New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.

In their interview with the now-retired tight end, Gronk opened up on his relationship with the "Baby Gronk" social media account.

"Yeah, it’s to a point where it’s awkward,” Gronkowski said. “Four weeks ago, my brother told me, ‘Yo have you seen Baby Gronk?’ Have I seen him? I go, ‘His dad hit me up 500 times already.’ He goes, ‘Don’t do anything.’ The dad is so annoying. And this was like five, six weeks ago. Then all of a sudden, two weeks later, it’s coming out everywhere. My brother died laughing. We’re gonna cease and desist Baby Gronk’s dad.”

"Baby Gronk'' was once considered sort of "adorable'' because the impression was that the little kid was the fuel behind a comedy act he was enjoying. But here you see the problem with this "stage dad,'' forcing his young son to speak words shoved down his throat by his pushy father.

If Gronk were to literally send a cease-and-desist letter to San Miguel, it would certainly send the clear message that the use of the nickname isn't welcome and could be at an end. In some ways, the former Patriot would be a hero as he'd force the 10-year-old's dad to find a new way of advertising his son.

Yet, would a threat of legal action from Gronkowski himself help stop San Miguel's activities? Likely not, as it seems that if this "Bad Dad'' can't get publicity, he'll take controversy.
