3 must-watch players in Patriots' Week 2 preseason game vs. Titans

When the New England Patriots take the field tonight to face the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 of the preseason, it will not only be an opportunity for some of the players to build upon their Week 1 performance, but to also showcase their talents for those who are debuting in a Patriots uniform.

Let's take a look at three players that you need to watch on New England's roster.

1) Damien Harris, RB

One of the Patriots' third round picks this offseason, running back Damien Harris, will be making his NFL debut tonight against Tennessee.

Harris has been dealing with a hand/wrist injury recently in camp, which caused him to miss the preseason opener vs. the Lions along with some practice time. His role going forward within the offense will ultimately be determined by how well he performs in the preseason, along with any maneuvering the team makes before the final roster cuts are made prior to the regular season.

The talent is there, but Harris needs to show New England's coaching staff what he can do at the NFL level. He could garner the most amount carries in the backfield tonight based on his standing within the depth chart. That leads to more opportunities for the rookie, and more importantly, a chance to shine.

2) Jakobi Meyers, WR

Jakobi Meyers has been by far the biggest standout in training camp and the preseason for the Patriots. The undrafted receiver has been Tom Brady's favorite target in competitive team drills during practice, and Meyers had two touchdowns in the team's Week 1 preseason game. Just three weeks into camp, Meyers has seemingly locked himself into a roster spot for the 2019 season.

To show continued progression and consistency, Meyers must now go out and have back-to-back strong outings in the preseason. Against the Titans, the UDFA could draw the attention of Tennessee's no. 1 CB, Malcolm Butler, because of injuries that have hampered the position for New England. It would be a true test for the former North Carolina State quarterback.

Meyers will have to bring his A-game against the Titans, and if he does, it will be fun to watch.

3) Isaiah Wynn, OT

Another debut for the Patriots Saturday night will be offensive tackle, Isaiah Wynn. The second-year lineman seems to be fully recovered from a torn achilles suffered about a year ago in last year's preseason.

There is a lot of hope lying on Wynn's shoulders, as the team expects him to safeguard Brady's blindside after the team let Trent Brown walk in free agency this past offseason. New England needs immediate production from him, as there is a large gap between the abilities of the 2018 first round pick and the supporting cast below him on the depth chart.

Wynn's success this season could heavily impact the overall success of the team in 2019. Keep an eye on his debut vs. the Titans; it's important.
