Child's Play! New England Patriots Fan Welcomes Son at Dallas Cowboys Game

In this story:
For New England Patriots fans, Sunday's Week 4 tilt against the Dallas Cowboys was a labor. One supporter, however, had to deal with literal labor, all while taking the game at AT&T Stadium.
Patriots fan Tyler Waterman was among the unlucky Foxborough fans stationed in Arlington during the Cowboys' 38-3 shellacking. Any supporters unlucky to be there likely fled for the exits and Waterman was among the earliest departures in the first half.
The Massachusetts native, however, had the most wholesome and fulfilling reasons for doing so, one that even the downtrodden Patriots couldn't soil.
Waterman's wife Haley ... a Cowboys fan ... was said to be three weeks away from giving birth to their first child and the couple opted to take in the quadrennial interconference showdown between their teams in what was presumably one of their final pre-parent weekends.
But Tyler's child was looking out for him from the start: Haley went into labor during the first half, which saw Dallas build the foundation of its five-touchdown margin. Stadium staff was able to successfully get her onto a stretcher for transfer to a nearby hospital. Just over 12 hours after kickoff, Haley gave birth to a "perfect & healthy" daughter, Delaney Lou, in the wee hours of Monday morning.
Tyler was more than happy to leave early: he missed the bleakest brand of Patriots history: Sunday's dreary margin was the worst of the Bill Belichick era (since 2000) and the first time they lost by at least 35 since 1993.
"I'm glad we ended up having to leave," Tyler told KDFW of the joyful occasion. "It would have been hard to stay there and witness what happened on Sunday."
Having won the joy of parenthood, one question remains: will Delaney be raised as a Cowboys or Patriots fan? Stay tuned, her parents claim.
"I hope that she makes the right decision and becomes a Cowboys fan for life," Haley declared. "But I will let her decide."
"She's got onesies in both (Cowboys and Patriots)," Tyler added. "So it's her decision."
The first Patriots game of Delaney's life will be staged on Sunday afternoon, when New England hosts the New Orleans Saints (1 p.m. ET, CBS). It's unlikely she'll be staying up for the Cowboys' contest, which will be a Sunday nighter against the San Francisco 49ers (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC).
