Maxx Crosby Gives Thoughts on Raiders' Draft Plans

Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby spoke about what his team might do during the 2024 NFL Draft.

There is nothing more exciting than the build-up to the NFL Draft. Fans wait for months to hear which player will become a member of their favorite team. 

The Las Vegas Raiders are in an intriguing position ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. They hold the No. 13 overall pick and could go in several different directions with it. 

They could opt for defensive help with a cornerback or trench help with an offensive lineman or shake things up by selecting a quarterback, whether at No. 13 or as part of a trade-up. 

Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has seen several first-round picks come through his team and is prepared to see another in just a few weeks. On the latest episode of his podcast, "The Rush with Maxx Crosby," Crosby spoke about the mystery and speculation of the draft.

“At the end of the day, it’s all speculation until draft day hits,” he said. “Obviously, you go on Twitter, all the Twitter GMs are going to be like, ‘We’re getting this guy at this pick and guaranteed it’s a perfect fit,’ but at the end of the day, nobody really knows.

“Even the coaches right now and the GM. All them. They don’t know until the draft day comes. Unless you have the No. 1 pick, people could trade picks; there could be a certain guy taken that you don’t expect the pick before you, and you’re like, ‘Oh f---, now what are we going to do?’ Obviously, they have a plan, they have their board and a breakdown of certain scenarios and situations, but you really don’t know until you know.”

Crosby discussed his trust in the Raiders organization to make the right selection. 

“We have the right people in the building,” he said. “I think it’s going to be very interesting. We’ll see what happens, I really don’t know. I’m excited. I’m like a kid when it comes to this s—. I like being involved; I like knowing. I bother the GM, bother [Antonio Pierce], bother Mark [Davis], like, ‘What the f--- are we doing?’”

With just a few weeks until the draft, Raider Nation -- and even Crosby -- will remain in high suspense about who the Raiders will select in the first round.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
