Raiders Opponent: Key Players on Offense for Bills

These three Buffalo Bills players on the offensive side of the ball could make a massive difference against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Las Vegas Raiders remain on the road this Sunday as they face off against the Buffalo Bills.

Looking to remain undefeated, the Raiders are facing a talented Bills team that dropped its first game of the season to the New York Jets in overtime.

In dealing with a talented roster like Buffalo’s, Coach Josh McDaniels knows there are star players who can beat them, but there are also quality depth players who have the potential to have big games and throw off the Raiders’ game plan.

Let’s take a closer look at three offensive players on the Bills who could be pivotal in this game.

Wide Receiver Gabe Davis -- The Bills will target Stefon Diggs often, and he should get his stats, but they will need consistent play from Davis if they want to win.

Davis has shown immense talent before, like his four touchdown game against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, but it does not come consistently enough for the Bills’ No. 2 receiver.

The Raiders know Davis is capable of exploding for a big game, and if they are doing a good job of defending Diggs, Davis could be the beneficiary of an increased workload in the passing game.

Offensive Tackle Spencer Brown -- Brown, the Bills’ starting right tackle, had a rough showing in Week 1.

According to Pro Football Focus, Brown allowed five pressures, three hurries, one quarterback hit and one sack in 51 pass-blocking snaps. He also committed a false start penalty on the Bills’ first drive of overtime.

Brown is talented, but is still developing as an NFL player. He has been hampered with penalties in the past, and Raiders’ pass rushers have to take advantage against him to consistently generate pressure against quarterback Josh Allen.

Tight End Dawson Knox -- Knox has been a consistent presence at tight end for the Bills ever since he was selected in the 2019 NFL Draft.

On Monday, Knox caught three passes for 25 yards and earned a good pass blocking grade from PFF. The Bills will need more from Knox if they want to win this season. While they have excellent rookie Dalton Kincaid, they cannot rely on him to be the main pass catcher at tight end so early in his career.

Raiders’ linebackers will have to respect Knox’s abilities as he is able to be a dynamic weapon in the Bills’ passing game.

The Silver and Black remain on the road this week as they travel to play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 1:05 p.m. EDT/10:05 a.m. PDT.
