The Las Vegas Raiders won their second game on Monday night because of a solid defensive performance.

The Raiders have a chance to have another one against the New England Patriots on Sunday. The Patriots' offense has been at the bottom of the league this season in moving the ball and scoring points.

The Patriots have averaged 11 points per game, the lowest total in the NFL. They are 20th in the league in passing yards and 25th in rushing yards. New England’s offense has not gotten anything going this season.

The Patriots are coming off of a humiliating 34-0 defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints, a game in which they had three turnovers and converted only one of 14 third-down plays. Quarterback Mac Jones accounted for all three turnovers with two interceptions and a lost fumble.

Jones has been off to a rough start this season, so rough that Patriots fans are calling for him to be benched.

The Patriots’ offensive line has allowed 11 sacks through five games this season. While veterans like center David Andrews and former Raider left tackle Trent Brown are having good seasons, the Patriots are not getting adequate production out of other players like right tackle Vederian Lowe and rookie guard Atonio Mafi.

The Patriots’ rushing attack has not been effective this season, largely due to the struggles of their star running back, Rhamondre Stevenson, who has 68 carries for 188 yards and only one touchdown after going over 1,000 yards last season.

New England added former Dallas Cowboys All-Pro Ezekiel Elliott to their backfield, but he has not been what they expected him to be, carrying the ball 42 times for 159 yards.

The Patriots’ leading receiver this season is Kendrick Bourne, who has 18 receptions for 218 yards and two touchdowns, but beyond that, no one has more than 200 yards receiving. Tight end Hunter Henry is the closest, with 17 receptions for 176 yards and two touchdowns.

The Raiders, coming off of their best defensive game of the season, welcome in another struggling offense. They can win their second straight game if Defensive Coordinator Patrick Graham’s unit is up to the task for another week.

The Silver and Black will stay home at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas to play the New England Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 4:05 p.m. EDT/1:05 p.m. PDT.
