Rams punter Johnny Hekker earns NFC special teams player of the week

The NFL announced that Los Angeles Rams punter Johnny Hekker was named NFC special teams player of the week on Wednesday.
Hekker placed all five of his punts against the Chicago Bears inside the 10-yard line in his team’s 24-10 victory on Monday. The drives for Chicago’s offense started on average at their own 16-yard line, as Hekker made the Bears drive the length of the field most of the evening.
According to Stats Inc., Hekker is the only NFL punter in the last 30 years to punt at least five times in a game and pin the opponent to their 10-yard line or inside on every one of them.
Hekker has pledged to donate $1,000 to the Children’s Institute for every punt downed inside the 20-yard line this season.
I’m donating $1,000 to @ChildrensInstLA for every punt downed inside the 20 yard line this season! Help me raise funds to ensure kids & families in high-poverty #LosAngeles communities have access to free preschool, counseling, support groups and more! https://t.co/CsiZNYiRnv pic.twitter.com/OkkCBcw5Pt

It’s the fourth time Hekker has won the award. He joins defensive tackle Aaron Donald (Week 5) and linebacker Micah Kiser (Week 2) in winning player of the week honors this season.
