The Rams host the division rival Seattle hoping for a repeat of a Week 1 rout and a springboard to a playoff run. Los Angeles, who is admittedly in the process of a mini-rebuild shocked the Seahawks in Week 1 to the tune of a 30-13 Rams upset.

Now, in Week 11, the teams are in very different places. Seattle looks like a contender for the NFC West, while the Rams are just a game ahead of last-place Arizona.

Sunday is a chance for Seattle to show the rest of the league that the Week 1 fiasco was just a fluke. The Seahawks have won six of eight, and have been embarrassed just one other time this season, with a 37-3 loss to the Ravens in Baltimore.

Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford is expected to return this week.

Although Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is expected to return this week from injury, Los Angeles has never played as well this year as it did in Week 1.

“Sometimes that can be a letdown for a team, but it’s just (about) understanding that the season is a very long season,” Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner said. "We were able to rebound from that and have a really good win over Detroit. You can’t allow the outside expectations to affect.”

Rams coach Sean McVay has his work cut out for him for Los Angeles to avoid missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season - something that's never happened to coach Pete Carroll in Seattle.

“What a good job they do of just consistently getting better," McVay said of the Seahawks. "One of the things I always respect is they consistently take steps. There’s always an identity that they play with.”

Rookie Rams receiver Puka Nacua began his incredible first-year run in Seattle in Week 1 with 10 catches for 19 yards. But he's missed workouts and practice this week.

“He’s just banged up,” McVay said. “You could see he was a little bit limited in terms of just some of his overall movement against Green Bay. I’ll be interested to see if he’s ever truly back full speed — not full speed, but feeling like you don’t have to be cognizant of taking care of him to get him to game day feeling as good as possible.”
