Baltimore Ravens Blow Late Lead, Fall To Cleveland Browns On Last-Second Field Goal, 33-31
Holding a 14-0 lead less than five minutes into the game, the Baltimore Ravens looked primed to roll over the division-rival Cleveland Browns and win their fifth straight game.
Oh, how things can change during the course of 60 minutes ... What once looked to be a comfortable Baltimore victory turned into a thriller, with Cleveland coming back to win 33-31.
Even at the start of the fourth quarter, the Ravens were in a great position to win after Gus Edwards scored from a yard out to restore the 14-point lead. After that, the Browns scored on their next drive, then scored again immediately after on a pick-6 by Lamar Jackson less than a minute later. The only thing keeping Baltimore's lead intact was Cleveland missing the extra point on their second touchdown.
That lead didn't last, though, as the Browns drove down the field to kick a game-winning field goal as time expired, snapping the Ravens' winning streak.

It was far from Baltimore's best game, and the stats reflect that. Lamar Jackson completed 13 of 23 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, including the crucial pick-6. The Ravens' ground game also wasn't as strong as many are accustomed to, even though they averaged 4.4 yards per carry and both Edwards and rookie Keaton Mitchell scored touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Ravens did a decent job against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was banged up during the game. The controversial quarterback completed 20 of 34 passes for 213 yards, one touchdown and one interception, which Baltimore's Kyle Hamilton took back for a touchdown in the first minute of the game.
However, the Ravens' run defense struggled to hold up. The Browns rushed for 179 yards, with 107 yards coming from Jerome Ford alone while he averaged 4.9 yards per carry.
The Ravens don't have time to hang their heads over the loss, as they host the Cincinnati Bengals in a massive divisional game on Thursday Night Football.
