Bye Bye Birdie? Three 'Potential' Destinations for Ravens CB Marcus Peters

The Ravens could see Marcus Peters leave Baltimore in free agency for one of these three teams.

Over the years the Baltimore Ravens have been synonymous with having elite defenses anchored by the secondary. That was no different in 2022, as the Ravens fielded one of the NFL's best defenses.

They boasted the NFL's best scoring defense, holding opponents to a mere 18.5 points per game on only 324.3 yards of total offense. Moving the ball through the air on Baltimore's defense was even more difficult, with the Ravens' secondary holding teams to 232.2 passing yards per game.

Now, they may enter the 2023 season without one of their key cornerbacks. Marcus Peters, who is an unrestricted free agent, has yet to sign a deal this offseason - either to stay in Baltimore or to play elsewhere.

While the Ravens have made it clear they are not closed off to a potential reunion with their veteran cornerback, he may see it in his best interests to pursue greener pastures.

Should he do that, the folks at Yardbarker presented three potential free-agent destinations for Peters. Those three teams are the Las Vegas Raiders, Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions.

In 13 games with Baltimore in 2022, he recorded 47 tackles while snagging an interception and forcing two fumbles. Even though it was a down year compared to his standards, Peters showed he still has some gas left in the tank.

This is where the other three teams could come in to play, and even Baltimore for that matter. Peters enters the 2023 season at 30 years old and could desire to play for a playoff contender.

The Ravens, Lions and Vikings are all seen as genuine playoff contenders, with real shots to win their divisions and potentially make a Super Bowl run. Las Vegas, while not considered by some a true threat, does have a talented roster.

Ultimately, there is no telling where Peters will be playing football this season. The Ravens, though, would be smart to keep him in Baltimore to help anchor one of the NFL's best secondaries.
