Ravens Expect WR Room to be 'Very Productive' Next Season Amid Free Agency Decisions

The Baltimore Ravens have decisions to make on several free agent wide receivers, but general manager Eric DeCosta remains confident that the offense will be productive regardless of what happens.

Every offseason, there is a decent amount of player turnover, and for the Baltimore Ravens, having 23 unrestricted free agents means changes are coming.

In particular, the receiver room has some notable free agents which include Devin Duvernay, Nelson Agholor, Laquan Treadwell, and Odell Beckham Jr. who did sign a one-year deal that reportedly had void years added with it per the team's official website.

So, with a host of weapons in Todd Monken's offense having their futures up in the air, is there a cause for concern next season that the Ravens receiving room might not be as productive as this year?

Not for general manager Eric DeCosta.

“I love the guys we have coming back I mean I think Bate's [Bateman] gonna have a great season and we got Zay [Flowers],” DeCosta said. “We will talk to guys and look at potentially bringing some back. But I feel really good about where we are I think we also saw the emergence of Isaiah Likely this year and we know of course what Mark can do Mark Andrews and so we have a lot of guys that can make plays."

Having Andrews miss a lot of football has led to an uptick in snaps and performance from second-year tight end Isaiah Likely as he developed into a serious target for Lamar Jackson.

Then the improvement from Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman working his way back into the mix after having his share of injury troubles over the past couple of seasons.

But despite all the uncertainty surrounding the receiver room, DeCosta remains upbeat that come Week 1 next season, Baltimore will still have a highly effective offense.

"I think watching Zay [Flowers] this year and just picturing Zay and Bate [Bateman] out there next year is very exciting and we'll see where that leads," DeCosta said. "We've also got the draft, we'll have conversations with our free agents as well, we've already started those conversations in some cases and so I would expect the receiver room to be very next year and very productive.”

The Ravens had the fourth-best offense regarding points per game (28.4) and with some weapons looking like being elsewhere in 2024, Monken's offense could look vastly different next season.

Change is afoot in Baltimore and it doesn't necessarily mean bad, it just means different.

But regardless of what shakes out over the coming months, DeCosta is confident in the talent already on the roster, and by adding a couple of pieces here and there, the Ravens could again have a potent offense moving forward.
