In this story:

The Saints (2-0) look to build off some early season success on Sunday, but they'll certainly have the stress test traveling to Green Bay to take on the Packers (1-1) in Week 3. New Orleans has a few key players out the lineup, as well as a stellar streak on the line defensively. Here's a look at all things related to the game before kickoff.

Saints Notes and Storylines for Week 3

HOUSEKEEPING NOTES

The Saints made several moves ahead of Sunday's game, which included putting Jamaal Williams on IR. They also downgraded Foster Moreau and Paulson Adebo to out for the game, which means Isaac Yiadom will get the start opposite of Marshon Lattimore. Juwan Johnson, Jimmy Graham, and Taysom Hill will likely have larger roles at tight end. The team also elevated Johnathan Abram and Cameron Dantzler from the practice squad. On paper, the Saints are more shorthanded than normal.

ROOKIE UP

The Saints are going to depend heavily on two of their draft picks in this game in running back Kendre Miller and safety Jordan Howden. Of course, all the rookies are really important here, but Miller and Howden will have prominent roles going into Sunday. Miller will be the featured back in the offense, while Howden takes over for a suspended Marcus Maye for the foreseeable future.

The Saints ground game has had some opportunities throughout the first two weeks, so hopefully we get to see a little taste of why the team drafted Miller in this game. As for Howden, expect the Packers to test him early, but he's certainly up for the challenge. He's been extremely impressive for quite some time and the coaches have a lot of faith and trust in him.

A STRONGER START, BETTER OFFENSE

Derek Carr and the Saints offense have got the job done when it matters most, but the first halves in each of their two games to start the year have left a lot to the imagination. Overall, pass protection was better last week from the offensive line, and of course Taysom Hill was just outstanding running the football. Mix that in with the triplets (Michael Thomas, Rashid Shaheed, Chris Olave) doing their thing in the passing game, and it could be a very successful day.

When the New Orleans offense gets it going with this defense playing behind them, it's really going to be something. This feels like the day where they could cut it loose. Of course, don't lose sight that this is the home opener for the Packers, which could make for some trouble for the Saints offense.
