Should the Seattle Seahawks Trade WR Tyler Lockett?

As last season's first-round pick, wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba, continues to grow as a player, the new staff could consider fan-favorite Tyler Lockett expendable.

If general manager John Schneider decides to move on from Lockett, Bleacher Report offers a list of potential trade partners, including the Cincinnati Bengals. And Seattle fans won't like the return haul, as it's just a fifth-round pick.

That doesn't seem like nearly enough to entice the Seahawks for a former All-Pro wideout.

“If the Bengals don’t think they will retain Higgins, the club can acquire Lockett to complement Chase in the passing game," B/R stated. "At 31 years old, the three-time All-Pro could be highly productive as the primary slot wideout. He’s racked up at least 894 receiving yards in six consecutive terms. Because of Lockett’s age, Cincinnati may be able to acquire him in exchange for a fifth-round pick.”

Outside of the northwest, Lockett seems to continue to be underrated as a pass catcher in the NFL.

The veteran is entering his 10th season in the league and just broke his streak of four straight 1,000-yard seasons while adding eight-plus touchdowns. Even missing the 1,000-yard mark, Lockett posted 894 yards on 79 catches and five scores in 17 starts.

Lockett has proven to be durable too, starting at least 16 games in seven straight seasons.

The Lockett trade may or may not happen, but if it does, the 12s most likely won't approve.
