The Seattle Seahawks have lost four in a row and five of their last six, and have fallen out of the NFC playoff picture. On Sunday, Seattle lost to division rival San Francisco for the second time in three weeks, virtually ensuring an NFC West title for the 49ers.

Several things went wrong for Seattle in the 28-16 loss at Levi's Stadium, and more than one player had bad games. One such player was star safety Jamal Adams. On the first play from scrimmage for the 49ers, running back Christian McCaffrey burned Adams for a 72-yard run.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll called out Adams and others after the game, and Carroll wasn't the only one.

During his podcast "KJ All Day", former Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright lit Adams up too. In the comment section, one listener wrote, "Adams is hot garbage lol." Wright saw the comment and addressed it this way, “Say what I’m thinking right now, Gee. You say it. I don’t want to say it. It starts with the letter Y and ends with an S.”

Wright appears to agree with the commenter as he silently mouthed the word, "yes" on the show.

Adams came to Seattle in a massive trade from the Jets where the Seahawks gave up first-round picks in 2021 and 2022. The trade has not worked out in Seattle's favor as of yet. In four seasons since the trade, Adams has played in just 32 games, totaling 221 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, 19 quarterback hits, two interceptions, 11 passes defended and one forced fumble.

Compare that with his three seasons in New York where he played in 46 games as a premier defender, and registered 273 tackles with 12 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, 23 quarterback hits, two interceptions, 25 passes defended, four fumble recovers and six forced fumbles.

Adams is having the worst statistical season of his career while not living up to expectations in Seattle. Combine that with the fact that he carries the third-highest cap hit on the team, and the criticism is understandable.
