Pete Carroll Reveals Why Seattle Seahawks Are 'At Our Very Best' for Week 16 vs. Tennessee Titans

The Seattle Seahawks have three games remaining in the season and sit outside of the playoff seedings, but head coach Pete Carroll wants his team to play good football in the final weeks.

The Seattle Seahawks finally snapped their four-game losing streak against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, but attention now turns to the Tennessee Titans for a Week 16 battle on Sunday.

Seattle's season looked like it was falling away after being a respectable 6-3 on the year before things started falling off the rails.

But for the team to rebound when their season was on the line is something that head coach Pete Carroll knows his team has in its arsenal of mental weapons, and that played out against the Eagles.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is hopeful his team can play some consistent football in the final three weeks.

“Our guys do bounce back," Carroll said. "We play hard throughout the season. That’s the first indicators; is everybody focused, are they into it? We haven’t always played well, but we’ve played hard. The challenges of the schedule as it’s been to get us to this point right now, have made us the best we’ve been all season. I think we’re at our very best right now, because what we’ve been up against. We’ve been sharpened against the best the NFL can offer. Hopefully, we can use that down the stretch here and we can play really good ball in this game and take it to the next one. The setup, as hard as it was, couldn’t have been better for us, and we’ll see what happens.”

The Seahawks do not control their playoff destiny as the Los Angeles Rams (who beat Seattle twice) are ahead of them, as well as the Minnesota Vikings.

Seattle's only way to make it back to the postseason is to win out against the Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Arizona Cardinals while hoping that either the Rams and/or Vikings stumble in the remaining three weeks.

Playing "good football" as Carroll put it, is job No. 1 for a Seattle team many had as a darkhorse for the Super Bowl in the preseason. That hasn't come to fruition, as they are now in real danger of missing the playoffs altogether.

There are three games left for the Seahawks in the regular season and all that fans and the coaching staff can hope for, is for the team to play good football and give themselves a chance of sneaking into the playoffs - starting with the Titans.
