Seahawks React to Bobby Wagner Signing: 'Guess Who's Back!'
After a one-year breakup, the Seattle Seahawks and linebacker Bobby Wagner are getting back together with a one-year, $7 million deal.
The Score's Jordan Schultz was the first to report the news on Saturday.
A lot has changed for Seattle over the past year while Wagner was with the Los Angeles Rams. But at the same time, many of the teammates Wagner was closest with in recent seasons remain with the Seahawks.
Some of his former and now current teammates took to Twitter on Saturday to react to the news, resulting in some funny posts.
The best of them all might've been from Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs, who dug deep into his sports reporter bag to be one of the first to break the news. He's been recruiting Wagner back to Seattle seemingly since the day he was released by the Rams.
"According to my sources future hall of famer LB Bobby Wagner has agreed to terms to return home to the Seattle Seahawks," he tweeted. "Seahawks fill a huge need in the middle of their defense! Reported by @qdiggs6. 12’s rejoice!!"
Seattle receiver Tyler Lockett recited some legendary Eminem lyrics fitting for a return by a Seahawks legend.
"Guess who’s back……… back again……"
Seahawks tight end Will Dissly chimed in as well with an emphatic response to the news.
"Absolute HYPE!!! @Bwagz is back!!!" he wrote.
Diggs wasn't done getting his word out, as he tagged head NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport to make sure they knew who the real news-breaker was this time around.
"Make sure y’all know I reported that first! @AdamSchefter @RapSheet," Diggs tweeted.
Wagner now re-joins a Seahawks team that's coming off of a surprising playoff appearance this past season. His re-arrival solidifies that Seattle has playoff-or-bust expectations in 2023.
But for now, everyone's just enjoying the reunion.
