Seahawks NFL Draft Trade Rumor: Bluffing About QBs - And Tricks to Gain Picks?

What if the Seahawks are the ones influencing the rumored trade movement in the NFL exactly because they've suggested they might take a QB at 5?

The Seattle Seahawks have been open about the possibility of using pick No. 5 in this 2023 NFL Draft on a quarterback. As a result - or maybe as a reflection of an eventual benefit - the Tennessee Titans have reportedly been exploring a jump-up to the No. 3 overall selection.

"Can I give you the team that I have been told to keep an eye on that's exploring this and looking into this?" said media scout Daniel Jeremiah. "The Tennessee Titans. The two teams to keep an eye on with the trade-ups were the Raiders and the Titans."

So, the Titans sitting at No. 11 could be looking to make a move up for a quarterback? And could jump ahead of Seattle?

On the one hand, that can mean the Titans, despite some level of commitment to Ryan Tannehill, might jump into the top handful of slots and steal a QB from Seattle.

On the other hand: What if the Seahawks are the ones influencing the rumored movement exactly because they've suggested they might take a QB at 5?

The Seahawks in theory could actually be the ones who desire a slide-down, maybe only a small one, in a way that would still allow them to get their guy - QB heir to Geno Smith or another position.

What if the Seahawks are the team orchestrating the "move-up demand'' in a way that benefits the Seahawks?

Could the Seahawks trade down with the Raiders (at No. 7) or the Titans and still end up being able to draft Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson? Or could Seattle simply be drumming up artificial interest in a QB in order to force another hungry team to trade up to Seattle's spot in order to satisfy that hunger?

The Seahawks don't have enough muscle here to "run this draft.'' But with picks Nos. 5 and 20 pick, they do have the ammunition to get better ... and the position to get tricky with trades.
