Seahawks Reunion? Frank Clark & Poona Ford Predicted to Re-Sign in Seattle

The Seahawks have put plenty of resources into retooling their defensive front, and these two free agents could further boost the unit.

The Seattle Seahawks knew heading into the offseason that addressing the defensive line would be one of their biggest priorities in free agency, which has been evident so far.

With the draft still to come, the Seahawks have bolstered their defensive front with the additions of defensive tackle Dre'Mont Jones, linebackers Devin Bush and Bobby Wagner and defensive lineman Jarran Reed - with the possibility of adding up to two more pieces with their pair of first-round picks.

However, even if they do add someone in the draft, this is a unit that could use all the help it can - after all, they ranked 30th in rushing yards allowed at 150.2 yards per game.

Luckily for the Seahawks, though, there is still talent to be had on the free agency market, with Bleacher Report listing them as the landing spot for two of the premier options left.

In the predictions, the site tabbed a reunion with Seahawks as the ideal landing spot for EDGE Frank Clark on a one-year deal while also re-signing defensive tackle Poona Ford to a two-year deal.

Clark, of course, spent the first four years of his career with the Seahawks before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs prior to the 2019 season. Last season for the Chiefs, Clark recorded 39 total tackles with eight tackles for loss and five sacks.

As for Ford, he has spent his entire career in Seattle and has become a key cog on the defensive line in the Seahawks defense. Ford recorded 35 total tackles for Seattle in 2022, with six tackles for loss and three sacks while doing his part to anchor the defensive front.

The duo of Clark and Ford, as well as a potential first-round pick or two in the trenches, would further upgrade a unit the Seahawks have put plenty of effort into retooling this offseason - and hopefully help them shore up the run defense in pursuit of another playoff berth.
