Seattle Seahawks Week 1 Loss vs. Los Angeles Rams 'A Good Time to Forget' Says DK Metcalf

The Seattle Seahawks face the Los Angeles Rams for the second time this season, but DK Metcalf doesn't want to remember their first meeting.

The Seattle Seahawks get the chance to right the wrongs of their 30-13 Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams when the two face off at SoFi Stadium for a Week 11 matchup on Sunday.

Seattle has been up-and-down throughout the first part of the season but is coming off a stirring 29-26 win over the Washington Commanders that saw Jason Myers nailed a game-winning field goal as time expired.

But as far as that Week 1 debacle, DK Metcalf says it was a good game to forget.

“I cannot even remember Week 1, it’s been quite some time since then, and it was a good time to forget it,” Metcalf said.

With the Seahawks now at 6-3 and the Rams at 3-6, both teams have gone in opposite directions since that Week 1 encounter. But that doesn't make things any easier on Sunday as, after all, it is a division game.

With Matthew Stafford set to be fully healthy, the Rams look like a different beast this week, and while many still have the Seahawks winning on the road, it will be anything but easy.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (14) celebrates after a touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.

Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf has put the Week 1 loss to the Rams firmly behind him.

But what do the Seahawks need to focus on if they are to walk out of SoFi Stadium with a win?

“Convert on third downs, finish scoring in the red zone, and just continue to play our style of ball and not just get caught up in trying to keep up with the Rams or trying to stay in the game," Metcalf said. "I think if we just run our style of plays and execute on offense, we’ll be fine and stick with any team in the league.”

With the Seahawks tied for the division lead with the San Francisco 49ers, maintaining the rage this week is important for coach Pete Carroll's team before the two rivals face off in Week 12 at Lumen Field.

Geno Smith and the offense bounced back into form against the Commanders, and with the 49ers looming large, staying in that groove against the Rams is crucial.

It is a game that the Seahawks won't want to drop, and with Metcalf already forgetting the poor performance in Week 1, he won't want to have to forget another effort like that if Seattle crumbles in Los Angeles.
