Seahawks Could 'Surprise Everyone' Says Louis Riddick: 'Period!'

The Seattle Seahawks have had what many think has been a good offseason, including NFL analyst Louis Riddick, who thinks they could take out the NFC West and potentially the NFC.

When it comes to teams who can win the NFC, most gravitate towards the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, and the Dallas Cowboys ... but it can be easy to forget the Seattle Seahawks.

After a productive season last year that ended with a surprising playoff appearance, the team has made several big offseason moves through the draft and free agency. Devon Witherspoon, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Zach Charbonnet headline the draft picks, and Bobby Wagner, Devin Bush, and Dre'Mont Jones all added to the defense.

The team's additions combined with the momentum of last season is reason enough for NFL analyst Louis Riddick thinks the Seahawks are going under the radar this season and that they can not only take out the NFC West but the entire NFC.

"That division is wide open, right there for them to take this year. This is their year," Riddick said on the Rich Eisen Show. "Seattle is that team this year that could surprise everyone in the NFC, period.”

In Riddick's eyes, many are sleeping on Seattle next season, but is potentially onto something with Smith. After having a career-best season, the ability to replicate his great season likely has a big impact on what the Seahawks can do next year.

“We’ve talked about this team, but people don’t want to buy in, and that’s Seattle,” Riddick said. “I know it’s primarily the division they’re in, and people think that ultimately will be won by San Francisco and Kyle Shanahan. People still believe no matter what Geno Smith did last year like he got lucky last year, they don’t believe.

But with the players added around him and another year as the team's starter, the Seahawks do have the necessary firepower to trouble a lot of teams, and they have general manager John Schneider to thank.

“If you look at the best general managers in the league right now as far as what they’ve done over the last two, three years, John Schneider is right there [at the top]," Riddick said. "With what he’s done with this roster and how they’ve revamped it, they got players man.

Sleep on the Seahawks at your peril.
