Seahawks Re-Draft: Seattle Trio Picked in 1st Round

This re-draft highlights how impressive the Seattle Seahawks 2022 draft class was, with three of their players going in the top 20 picks.

It is hard to deny just how impressive of a draft class the Seattle Seahawks put together in 2022.

They landed a pair of franchise tackles in Abraham Lucas and Charles Cross, a lockdown corner in Tariq Woolen and a budding superstar at the running back position in Kenneth Walker III.

To put in context just how well the Seahawks nailed the 2022 draft, three of their selections went in the first round of The Athletic's 2022 NFL redraft

At their original pick, which was No. 9 overall, the Seahawks still take land a franchise cornerstone offensive tackle. This time, however, they draft Lucas instead of Charles Cross.

It didn't take long for the next Seattle rookie to come off the board in this redraft, with Tariq Woolen going from a fifth-round steal for the Seahawks all the way to the No. 12 pick and the Minnesota Vikings.

Woolen burst onto the scene for the Seahawks in a big way last season, recording 63 total tackles while snagging six interceptions - which was tied for the most in the NFL.

While the Seahawks don't take Cross in this version of the draft, he still finds himself as a first-round pick as he only slides down the board to the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 17 overall.

Ultimately, the Seahawks having three players taken in the first round of this redraft is a true testament to how strong their draft class was, especially considering Lucas was a third-round pick and Woolen was a fifth-round pick.

However, as impressive as the redraft makes their draft class look, the Seahawks are happy to have all three on their roster for the foreseeable future.
