Could Seahawks 'Fill a Few Question Marks' by Drafting Jalen Carter?

The Seattle Seahawks have been upfront with their desire to continue improving their defensive line ahead of the NFL Draft.

The Seattle Seahawks are a week away from the NFL Draft and may have hinted at what they are doing to do with their No. 5 pick.

"We've got some work to do," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said about the defensive line. "We've done some work here in free agency, and we're going to continue in the draft, and we'll just keep battling throughout to put it together."

The Seahawks came into the offseason with a plan of overhauling their front seven to fit their 3-4 defensive scheme. So far, the they've done a good job of making additions through free agency, bringing back defensive tackle Jarran Reed and linebacker Bobby Wagner while signing newcomers in Devin Bush and Dre'Mont Jones.

"We made some big commitments that have gotten us to this point, and we're really excited about it, but it has left us with a few question marks we've got to get filled out, so there's plenty of time to get that done," Carroll said.

But as recent mock drafts have suggested, they could have the chance to draft Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter

The former Bulldog was once the projected No. 1 pick in the draft, especially before the Chicago Bears the top selection to the Carolina Panthers. However, he's seen his draft stock fall following the reveal of the misdemeanor charges filed against him for reckless driving and racing in the car accident that took the life of Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy.

Despite the legal and character concerns, Carter is still one of the best, most talented prospects in the draft. Adding him to the fold could help Seattle complete their remake of the front seven.

But there is also the possibility of taking Alabama's Will Anderson Jr., another once-projected top-three pick, who could fall to No. 5 if the top of the draft becomes quarterback-focused.
