Seahawks' Quandre Diggs 'Just Got NFL Script Last Week,' Reveals What it Says

Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs spilled the beans to Von Miller about what Seattle’s 2023 “script” says.

Players around the NFL have become ultra-dedicated to the skit centered around the idea that the league hands out scripts to each player and team, detailing how the events of the season will unfold.

Add Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs to that list.

Diggs sat down with Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller on “The Von Cast” at Radio Row in Phoenix as the NFL prepares for Super Bowl LVII. And to keep up with the gag, Diggs revealed that the league just recently sent him the 2023 script.

“For us, I mean I just got the script last week,” he said, resulting in some hearty laughter from Miller.

So, what did it “say?” According to Diggs, the Seahawks can now no longer solely rely on the incoming rookie class as well as the second-year players to-be next season.

“They told me on there we can't … depend on the rookie class stuff, we got to go win and if we lose, it's on us,” Diggs said. “For us, it’s like you gotta go do it. No more excuses, that’s what our script said, no more excuses.”

Indeed, it’s hard to imagine Seattle making its unexpected run to the playoffs without its talented rookie class, which was headlined by running back Kenneth Walker III and cornerback Tariq Woolen - both of whom were nominated for their respective Rookie of the Year honors - as well as the presence of offensive lineman Abraham Lucas and Charles Cross. It’s also hard to forget the rookie contributions of cornerback Coby Bryant, who finished the season with four passes defended and a forced fumble in four of his first five career games.

The Seahawks might’ve been performing at the low level of play that was expected of them if this group didn’t play beyond their years. And while the team showed nothing is out of the realm of possibility, it’s still hard to imagine that the 2023 rookie class will perform similarly.

Now, it’s up to Seattle’s core group of play-makers to set the tone next season, as playoffs are the expectation.

“The rookie stuff done so we're gonna see how that uphold and how we handle that,” Diggs said.
