'He is a Dog!': Brandon Marshall Praises 'Underrated' Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett

Former NFL talent and one-time Seattle Seahawks receiver Brandon Marshall says Tyler Lockett is "the most underrated receiver in football."

Seattle Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett has put up excellent numbers year after year, yet never seems to get the recognition he deserves.

After flying under the radar for so long, fans of the veteran receiver believe he deserves more attention. Among those fans is former NFL receiver Brandon Marshall, who recently called Lockett "the most underrated receiver in football" on the I Am Athlete podcast.

Lockett has put up at least 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns in each of the last four seasons, and came very close to doing so in 2018 as well. Despite that, he did not receive a single Pro Bowl or All-Pro selection in that time. The only time he received either honor was as a rookie in 2015, and even then it was as a return specialist and not a receiver.

Lockett even sometimes flies under the radar on his own team. D.K. Metcalf seems to get much more attention in the greater NFL fanbase despite Lockett putting up similar, if not better, numbers since they became teammates.

Marshall has seen how good Lockett is firsthand. The veteran receiver played for the Seahawks in 2018, his final NFL season. Although Marshall didn't put up huge numbers, just 11 receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown in seven games, getting to play with Lockett clearly left an impression on him.

With Seattle selecting receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the 2023 NFL Draft, Lockett may have to work even harder to get his deserved recognition going forward. However, those who pay close attention know just how important he is to the Seahawks offense.
