'Toilet Paper!' San Francisco 49ers Fan Accidentally Receives Seattle Seahawks Jersey in Mix-Up Before Division-Rivalry Game

Just a few days before the NFC West rivalry game between Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco, a 49ers fan was involved in a big mix-up by an apparel manufacturer.

Two San Francisco fans got a surprise ahead of their team's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. Paul Kemp ordered the other an early Christmas present for his friend Matt Quinn in the form of a new customized 49ers jersey and waited patiently.

"So it finally comes, I get to work and then it's there at my desk and I open it, I'm pretty excited. I'm like alright, cool so I open it up and I'm like okay and I'm expecting it to be scarlet red and this is what I'm looking at okay. This is exactly what I'm looking at," Kemp told ABC7 as he held up a Seattle Seahawks jersey. "Oh yeah he told me, 'Send it to me I'm going to use it as toilet paper!'" responded Kemp.

"I probably have a collection of 75 jerseys, I've never had a Seahawks jersey sent to me," said Quinn. "For any 49ers fan that's about the worst thing you could send them!"

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (85) runs for a touchdown against Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs (6) after making a reception during the first quarter at Lumen Field.

Seahawks vs. 49ers

The package label was correct, however, describing a "San Francisco 49ers Mens Team Color Scarlet." Quinn posted his displeasure on social media and was surprised to find out he wasn't the only one who received an unwanted Seahawks jersey.

Other 49ers fans along with a few Rams fans admitted they were in the same situation.

Fanatics - the company responsible for the mishap - released a statement: "This fan had his jersey accidentally switched with a different customized jersey during packaging at our warehouse. Once we learned of the issue, we immediately reached out to the fan to make this right and will ensure he gets the correct product ASAP."

The pair wondered if this was truly a mistake or if there was a Seahawks fan working in the Fanatics warehouse. The mistake was fully refunded by the distributor after ABC7 reached out.

The 49ers have already beaten the Seahawks 31-13 back on Nov. 23, and the rematch is this weekend at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara at 1:05 p.m.
