In this story:

Will the Seattle Seahawks draft a quarterback on Day 1 of the NFL Draft? That is the big question, as the draft is hours away from putting the Carolina Panthers on the clock at No. 1. If so, it begs the question whether the Seahawks make the selection with their No. 5 pick or No. 20, which does not mention the possibility of trading up.

C.J. Stroud may be a prospect that the Seahawks could select if his low S2 scores see him fall down the draft board. Seattle would be an appealing option for Stroud, as he revealed to the media on Wednesday that he grew up watching the "Legion of Boom."

"I was a big Seahawks fan growing up," Stroud said, per Heavy.com's Jonathan Adams. "I love the Legion of Boom. Richard Sherman is from LA, so that was somebody I really looked up to. ... They're a really good organization."

Despite having an impressive career at Ohio State, Stroud has fallen from his projection as the No. 1 overall pick.

Stroud's draft stock has been less clear in recent weeks. If Bryce Young goes to the Panthers as expected, and the Houston Texans go elsewhere, the Seahawks could be in a position to have the ex-Buckeye still on the board by No. 5.

Despite the concerns with Stroud's test results, it is hard to ignore the on-field production. The last time evaluators saw the Buckeyes signal-caller in pads, he threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns while completing 67 percent of his passes against the Georgia Bulldogs in the College Football Playoff semifinal.

The Seahawks have been upfront with their want to fill their needs on the defensive line. But drafting a potential replacement for quarterback Geno Smith could be intriguing for Seattle.
