In this story:

The Seattle Seahawks have jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on the road versus the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

After a quick three-and-out from the Rams on the first drive of the game, aided by a second-down sack by rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon, the Seahawks offense was given the opportunity to take an early lead.

That is exactly what quarterback Geno Smith and co. did as they drove 88 yards in 14 plays before D.K. Metcalf put them on the board with an eight-yard touchdown.

Take a look:

Smith completed seven of his eight passes for 50 yards, which included the scoring play to Metcalf, but also saw him make throws on the two third downs for the Seahawks. The first third-down came early, as Smith and co., were faced with a third and four, which he found the veteran Tyler Lockett for nine yards before an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the Rams tacked on 15 more yards.

Then following a 23-yard pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba, which was overturned after a coach's challenge from the Rams' Sean McVay, Smith went right back to the first-round receiver formerly of Ohio State to convert the third and final third-down of the drive before Metcalf found the endzone.
