Could Seahawks Take Kentucky QB Will Levis In Round 2 After Slide?

In this story:
The first round of the 2023 NFL Draft contained many surprises, but none bigger than the slide by Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Will Levis. Most had Levis going in the top 10, but he shockingly fell all the way out of the first round.
He is one of just four players invited to the draft to not be selected on Thursday, alongside Alabama safety Brian Branch, Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and Georgia Tech defensive end Keion White.
Now that Levis has fallen out of the first round, perhaps some teams who passed on him Thursday could give him another look on Friday. One of those teams may be the Seattle Seahawks. Of course, they already have Geno Smith but their long-term future at quarterback is a mystery.
The Seahawks hold the sixth pick of the second round, No. 37 overall, so there's a solid chance Levis is still available when they pick again. In fact, ESPN analyst Todd McShay even named Seattle as the best landing spot for Levis after the first round.
"Watch for Seattle at No. 37," McShay said. "I heard some buzz around the Seahawks and the quarterbacks in Round 1, so with Levis still here, they could pick him early on Day 2. It'd be a great landing spot, too. Levis has to work on his touch and decision-making, and he could learn behind Geno Smith for at least a year before potentially taking over. And when/if he does, he'd have numerous deep threats to target with his huge arm."
However, there's also a good chance that Levis isn't available at No. 37. Two teams ahead of Seattle, the Detroit Lions at No. 34 and Los Angeles Rams at No. 36, have similar long-term needs under center. Additionally, other teams could also trade up to to get Levis. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero even reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers received multiple calls for the first pick of the second round, No. 32 overall, and Levis is the presumed target.
Will the Seahawks make a play for Levis on Friday night? Only time will tell.
