Former DT Explains Why He Left Steelers

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers were hoping to have veteran defensive tackle Armon Watts back for another year in black and gold but the two sides couldn't come to an agreement and now he's a member of the New England Patriots.
Watts went into some detail about his decision to turn down the Steelers' offer, saying that he felt like the Patriots were more eager to sign him than Pittsburgh was and that led to the disconnect.
"Pittsburgh showed some interest," Watts told 98.5 The Sports Hub's Alex Barth this week. "But I feel like at the end of the day New England wanted me more. It's a good organization."

The Steelers could use some help on the interior of the defensive line with Cam Heyward aging. They re-signed Montravius Adams and expect second-year veteran Keeanu Benton to build upon his outstanding rookie year to become a star for them in the long term.
Watts played just one season with the Steelers, racking up 15 tackles, three quarterback hits and half of a sack in 15 games played.
