PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are looking to make a splash in the NFL Draft as they target an offensive tackle ahead of their first-round pick at 17, according to ESPN's Todd McShay.

McShay reports that the Steelers have contacted the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans about moving up to pick nine or 11, with the intention of finding a left tackle.

"I’ve heard Pittsburgh has contacted multiple teams, including the Bears (No. 9) and Titans (No. 11), about trading up for an offensive tackle," McShay writes. "The Steelers need a long-term answer as protection for Kenny Pickett, and there are three potential cornerstone left tackles in this class who will be available in that range. It wasn’t that long ago that Pittsburgh moved up in Round 1 and took linebacker Devin Bush, and we could see a similar move this year, albeit for a different position."

The Steelers have done their homework on all four of the offensive tackles expected to go early in the first round. Paris Johnson was a part of the group Mike Tomlin took to dinner at Ohio State's Pro Day, Broderick Jones and Darnell Wright came to Pittsburgh for pre-draft visits, and Steelers o-line coach Pat Meyers was at Peter Skronoski's Pro Day.

The Steelers were rumored to be moving up for Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter, but the expectation that he'll slide to nine doesn't appear very realistic.

Pittsburgh has already reshaped their offensive line with the additions of Isaac Seumalo and Nate Herbig, and could be finishing off the group with a star left tackle ahead of pick 17.
