'Chicken(Bleep)!' Aaron Rodgers Accuses New York Jets 'Sources' of 'Character Assassination' of QB Zach Wilson

Ahead of their Week 13 matchup with the Houston Texans, the New York Jets have found themselves mired in an extremely complicated quarterback controversy.

After benching quarterback Zach Wilson following a dreadful Nov. 19 performance against the Buffalo Bills, the Jets turned to Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian, both of whom attempted to quarterback New York over the last two weeks.

And now according to reports, Wilson is reluctant to start for the franchise after being benched - something Saleh denied vehemently.

“Well, let’s be clear. If he was reluctant to play, guys, he wouldn’t be here,' Saleh said. "I actually coincidentally just got done speaking with him. He came in about a half hour ago and we had a really good conversation.”

Aaron Rodgers, whose Week 1 injury is the foundational issue for the Jets as they scramble for help at QB, came to the defense of Wilson during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, claiming that someone within the organization is trying to assassinate the young QB's character.

Zach Wilson vs. the Patriots.

"When you use sources to try and assassinate someone's character like that report does for Zach, I have a real hard time with that," Rodgers said. "You're basically saying that this kid is quitting on the team and doesn't wanna play and has given the middle finger to the organization."

Rodgers has never been one to be soft-spoken. That said, he seemed particularly incensed by the reports.

So much so, that he came after the Jets directly, questioning the motivation of someone within the organization to serve as a source for a journalist, especially when the report is meant to degrade Wilson's character.

"What is your motivation to try and bury someone like that? And that's a problem with the organization," Rodgers said. "We need to get to the bottom of wherever this is coming from and put a stop to it privately... I think it's chicken (bleep) at its core and I think there is no place in a winning organization to be a 'source' - especially not when you're going to assassinate somebody's character."

The Jets, who just signed another QB to the roster in Brett Rypien to replace the recently released Boyle, will host the Jets on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.

It has yet to be revealed who will start under center for New York.
