Texans Dominate Titans, Move Closer To Playoff Contention

The Houston Texans took another step toward the postseason on Sunday afternoon with their win over the Tennessee Titans

With their playoff lives hanging in the balance, every game over the last few weeks for the Houston Texans has been a 'must-win' contest of sorts, and that continued to be the case on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans at NRG Stadium.

Fortunately for the Texans, they were able to welcome their star QB C.J. Stroud back from a concussion, which had kept him out for the previous two weeks.

And suffice it to say, getting Stroud back paid its dividends, with the Texans dominating the Titans for the vast majority of the contest, and taking home a 26-3 win in front of their home crowd.

It was a bit of a slow start for Houston, with Stroud and the offense managing to score just three points in the opening frame.

However, early in the second quarter, things started to go Houston's way, starting with a Stroud to Brevin Jordan touchdown pass, that put the Texans up 10-0.

And just a handful of plays later they were back in the end zone again, this time on a Jerry Hughes strip-sack, that was subsequently picked up and rushed in by defensive tackle Sheldon Ranks, giving Houston a 17-0 lead.

From there, the Texans were able to control the game, hitting three more field goals to seal the win.

Stroud would go on to end the game by completing 24 of 32 passes for 213 yards and the score, while Devin Singletary continued to be a force on the ground, rushing 16 times for 80 yards.

Following the win, the Texans will now turn their attention to a critical season-finale matchup vs. the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, needing a win to have hope at the postseason.
