Titans to Interview Dennard Wilson on Tuesday for Defensive Coordinator Position

Tennessee Titans executive vice president/general manager Ran Carthon and new coach Brian Callahan are interviewing Baltimore Ravens assistant Dennard Wilson on Tuesday for the defensive coordinator job. Wilson is a popular candidate, with at least three teams seeking to interview him for their openings.

NASHVILLE — Defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson, who helped establish the Ravens as the NFL's stingiest defense in 2023, is interviewing for the Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator job on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

During Wilson's first season with the Ravens, the defense became the first in NFL history to lead the league in fewest points allowed, sacks, and takeaways. The Ravens defense also ranked second in passing touchdowns allowed and third in passes defended. Baltimore intercepted 18 passes and allowed only 4.7 net yards per passing attempt.

Wilson spent three seasons in the Chicago Bears scouting department, then got his coaching start as a defensive quality control assistant for the Rams in 2012. He was defensive backs coach for the Rams in 2015-16 and then coached for the New York Jets from 2017 to 2020, serving as their passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach.

Wilson spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles as the defensive backs coach in 2021 and defensive passing game coordinator in 2022 as Philadelphia advanced to Super Bowl LVII.

Wilson is the only reported candidate for an interview with the Titans. The team is also considering retaining incumbent defensive coordinator Shane Bowen.

The Los Angeles Rams, Green Bay Packers, and New York Giants also have requested interviews with Wilson.
