Six-time Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 prolific seasons with three teams. Weddle was drafted in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Chargers where he spent nine seasons as a mainstay of their secondary. After brief stints with the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Rams, he finishes his career with more than 1,000 tackles, 29 interceptions and four defensive TD. The MMQB’s Albert Breer assesses Weddle’s legacy, noting that it was always a goal to be able to walk away from the sport on his own terms.
