Unchecked: Cam Newton Is Being Disrespected
The Carolina Panthers posted a tweet asking who fans had as the team's GOAT.
Notable by his absence was former league MVP Cam Newton. Newton also is currently still without an NFL team at all. Sports Illustrated host Robin Lundberg reacted to Newton's omission and feels that Cam is being disrespected given he hasn't even gotten an opportunity to prove he is healthy and can make an impact again.

Do you notice anyone missing? You know perhaps the only league MVP in team history who led them to a 15-1 record and a Super Bowl with Ted Ginn as his top wide receiver should be included, don’t you think? Because the first name I think about when it comes to that franchise is Cam Newton.
And at this point, Cam is being plain disrespected.
Look, I don’t know what the guy has left in the tank. When last seen he did appear to be a shell of himself. So it is completely fair to question whether he can ever be close to the same QB. Not to mention his skillset isn’t quite as plug and play. But given what he has done in the past, he certainly deserves an opportunity.
Cam Newton is one of the best players I’ve ever watched. As far as individual impact, he has few peers at quarterback, and really period. And that-do-it all ability clearly took its toll on him. But now he’s had time off to get healthy, refreshed and motivated. So as much as he should’ve been included on the list of greatest Carolina Panthers ever--a list he should be atop--he should also be on another NFL team’s list as well--because Cam at the very least deserves a shot.
